10-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES AFTER AN AFTER SCHOOL FIGHT

The death of a 10-year-old girl has been ruled a homicide after authorities say she got into a fight with a classmate last week after school.

The fifth grade student, Joanna Ramos got into an altercation and received blunt force trauma to her head according to the Long Beach, Ca. police department. The fight between Ramos and an 11-year-old female classmate lasted about one minute as several other students looked on.

Police say that the two children met in an alley after school and exchanged punches. Even though there were no weapons involved in the altercation Ramos was critically injured and died later on in the evening after being taken to an emergency room.

Authorities are waiting for the autopsy to be complete before deciding if they are going to file charges in the case.

My heart goes out to the family of this little girl.  No parent expects to send their child to school and have them return in a body bag.  It’s just not fair!

I am curious as to where were the teachers when this fight was taking place.  I know school yard fights take place all the time.  But the way things are these days, you can’t take your eyes off of the kids for even a minute because you never know what could possibly happen.   This is just a sad situation from all aspects.

TEENAGE GIRL THREATENS TO KILL HERSELF ON TWITTER…AND DOES IT

After reading about the apparent suicide of Don Cornelius earlier today reports have surfaced that a 17-year-old Houston, TX girl has taken her life after tweeting about her suicidal thoughts on Twitter and   Tumblr.  Ashley Duncan was a student at Bell Aire High School and had made several posts on the internet about getting a gun and a plan that she had to kill herself due to the pain that she was in.

Below are two posts and a picture from from Ashley’s Tumblr and Twitter.

if you know or have known what it feels like to want to die every minute second hour day week month year then you feel me. I’m not here to put my business out like y’all care or for y’all to feel sorry for me but this is the only way I can vent. Im not complaining because I know it’s people out in this world that has it a lot worse but what you don’t understand is I really have it bad. I might not struggle financially but I struggle emotionally and mentally and I think that’s the worst struggle. the only thing that made me happy is gone. So in asking why can’t it be my choice to die now? I’m miserable. I’m just a dead stoner pill head walking and nobody notices it but me. One day I won’t be here anymore and that’ll be the happiest day of my life but for the ones that say they love me its gonna hurt but fuck it I’m tired and I’m done with this life.

..I should’ve went through with my plan, I wouldn’t have to feel or deal. Like I said yesterday I’m tired as fuck and ready for this shit to be over and the shit I’m referring to is my life! peace ✌

Depression is a major issue that needs to be addressed.  There has got to be a better way of recognizing the signs and helping out the people who need it the most.   This young lady could have been helped, and I know that there are millions of other folks out there who are feeling the effects of depression.

I didn’t know Ashley or Don Cornelius personally but I know that we are losing people left and right of all age groups, nationalities, and class to the disease of depression.  If you can do something to save someone who you think is suffering, please help them!
